It’s been a while since I did a circle lens post but, granted, I haven’t been wearing them much! Too much time is front of the computer still, but I’ve finally started to use eye drops so I’m hoping that that helps my dry eyes. Today though, I’m finally going to be writing about this pair that Uniqso sent me a couple of weeks ago. I have reviewed products from them twice in the past (which you can read here and here) and I have enjoyed their prompt customer service and emails in general. Their new website is also pretty easy to navigate.
That being said, I do find that their range of circle lenses tend to be more dramatic. They primarily target a cosplay audience, so the number of subtle, daily lenses that they have is a bit limited. In the past, I reviewed two of their more natural coloured ones (I love the Gray Sweety Charm ones) and so I chose something a bit more stand out today.
These are the Dolly Eye Ice Melon lenses in Pink. They don’t really have photos of them on the website, but I thought that I would try these out on a whim. This design of lenses also come in Blue, Brown, Green, Gray and Violet.
And so, let’s get on with this review!
Packaging
Uniqso upped their game for the delivery of these lenses! In addition to updating their website, it seems that they’ve updated their packaging and I love that it has that small custom touch. The lenses (which are Dolly Eye branded) of course come in their own bottles with the company’s labelling. These two bottles are then places into a small black gift box which is store branded and has a Thank you message on the bottom.
I think that it’s such a cute touch and, if I were gifting these or sending them to anyone, I would be happy with this! The box doesn’t feel or look high quality and the design is rather average, but considering that it doesn’t cost extra then I think that this is sufficient.
The lenses also come with a free lens case, which I always appreciate because I don’t like having to look for them (since I keep a lot of pairs at the same time and I really need to get better at throwing out the old ones that I don’t wear anymore). The cases that I got this time are solid but I prefer the semi-transparent ones instead, since you can’t see through these and it will get annoying to look through them. In the future, I hope that Uniqso will stick to those instead.
Lens Details
These are a yearly lens, and so will generally last 12 months after you open them (regardless of how often or not often you wear them). As you can see from the photo above, they look rather different to the photo on the website – as I expected more of a full, grid-like design. The fact that these lenses don’t have proper example photos or any reviews also doesn’t help. I am a bit thrown off by how they didn’t match my expectations.
That being said, they still show up fine on my super dark eyes. The lenses are quite wide at 15mm diameter, and so the pink rim of the design is very prominent. In contrast, the inner graphic of it is a lot more subtle and, on my eyes, don’t blend as well as I would want them too. I would more recommend these lenses for lighter eyes as most of the graphic is concentrated on the edges. For darker eyes like mine, I think that brown lenses or even gray will look a lot better and more natural.
Here are the overall details and then some photos of the lenses in my eyes!
Diameter 15mm
Base Curve 8.6mm
Lifespan 12 months
Water content 38%
Personal thoughts
Overall, I really think that the Dolly Eye Ice Melon Pink lenses will suit lighter eyes better because there isn’t enough of a gradient to blend the colour into my natural eye colour. That being said, it is quite bright and it looks better in the close up photo than from a distance (where only the edge is really prominent). For someone who is after costume lenses, then perhaps these would be okay?
Comfort wise, these felt like nothing in my eyes and so were quite comfortable to wear. Since they are a big wider, I would moreso recommend these for people who are confident with putting in lenses – otherwise, it may take a little bit of practice!
And, here’s the verdict!
SO WHAT IS IT?
Wide, pink circle lenses with a prominent rim
THE GOOD
- 12 month lifespan
- Free lens case (not pictured)
- Gift box packaged
- Comfortable
- Pink colour shows up on dark eyes
THE BAD
- Most of the graphic is focussed on the rim and so doesn’t blend well into dark eyes
- Wide circle lenses may be harder for beginners
- Lens case was opaque (may be personal preference)

WOULD I RECOMMEND?
As I stated earlier, I really think that these would be better on lighter eyes. For people with similar eye colour to mine, I would much sooner recommend the Sweety Colourful Rio or Sweety Charm Crystal that I have reviewed in the past. The colour just works so much better for us.
At AUD$29.83 they are a bit more expensive than the ones that I have seen in the past, and so I wouldn’t personally repurchase even in another colour, but they’re also not bad. I think that Dolly Eye needs to include more modelled photos of their lenses because this really was a guess in the dark for me.
