It’s been a while since my last circle lens review and I’m back with another one from Klenspop! These I had actually recieved when I came back from Japan but, with how tired I’ve been and trying to catch up with everything that I’ve missed, it had actually been a long time since I wore lenses. After trying these out though, I’ve been wearing them constantly. I love how bright and bold they are, as well as pretty comfortable in the eyes. I generally wear them for the entire day and I have no issues with dry eyes or discomfort.

I found these while I was looking through the website for a bright, brown or honey coloured eye contact that I could wear daily. While these did turn out brighter than I thought they would – and so I’m a little uncomfortable about wearing them to work – they’re so pretty that I just pop them in when ever I go to work. I have also tried out some other lenses from Kirei before and I loved it, hence when I was happy to go back for another variation of their lenses.

Klenspop Kirei Brown VS Circle Lens Review

So, as is usual with Klenspop, their contacts come in two glass bottles. Since I recieved these from them for review, I don’t have the packaging to show you but you can view my previous posts to see how they look. I love the design of their boxes, and that they also come with a free lens case.

I had actually taken more photos of the bottle to show everyone but, somehow, they are all missing and the above is the only photo I have from before I opened and put them in. I got these in a 0.00 power but they are available in a good range. The lenses themselves look like a cool toned yellow before you put them in (as you can see on their website) but the final colour is more like a warm gray in my eyes. I definitely don’t think that they look brown, but they didn’t in the official photos either. I think they’re just a little mis-named.

Here are the details for the lenses:

Diameter 15mm
Graphic Diameter 14.8mm
Lifespan 6 months
Water content 38%

I think that the colour of these lenses are really pretty and I love how they stand out on my eyes. I do, however, wish that the outer rim wasn’t so dark. The thick, black edge plays a bit part on making these lenses look more cartoon-ish and not very natural. They also don’t blend very well to my natural eye colour but I think that this would suit someone whose eyes are closer to a mid-brown too. Regardless, I was pretty surprised that they showed up so brightly on my eyes.

The lenses are pretty big but also soft, so they’re not too difficult to put in. I loved the widening effect but, because of how dramatic they are, I find that they look strange if I’m not wearing full make up. A casual, but complete, make up look also suits but I decided to go for something a little more out of my comfort zone. For eye make up, I’m wearing the Kat Von D Metal Matte palette shades, and my lip colour is from Heimish. Usually, I also do some photoshop work on my photos so that my skin looks smoother but – and I might continue to do this – I didn’t do any retouching here. I want it to be realistic and believable that this is what the lenses look like without any digital enhancement.

For that reason, forgive my complexion for being imperfect (and normal).

So that’s them! Though these lenses have their strengths and weaknesses, I do love the look overall and they are currently my go-to pair when ever I want something a little special. The colour means that it’s easy to pair with different make up looks though they are a bit too dramatic to wear with a minimal make up look. They’re very comfortable and don’t dry out my eyes either! I’d recommend this for someone with either light to middle brown eyes, or someone with darker eyes that wants a dramatic, warm gray change.

Here’s the verdict:

SO WHAT IS IT?

Dramatic warm gray lenses with a wide diameter and dark rim

THE GOOD

  • 6 month lifespan
  • Free lens case (not pictured)
  • Comfortable and doesn’t dry eyes
  • Bright and shows up well on dark eyes
  • Widening effect
  • Colour suits a wide variety of make up shades

THE BAD

  • Dark rim is too dramatic and cartoon-ish
  • They’re definitely not brown
  • Doesn’t suit minimal or natural make up looks
  • Large size – can be hard to put in

WOULD I RECOMMEND?

Absolutely! Even if you don’t wear dramatic looks often, I think that people should try something like these lenses at least once – even if it’s just to satisfy your kitty cat curiosity. At 18$USD, they’re definitely affordable!
