My love affair with Peripera’s lip tints started when I was studying in Seoul and got myself two of their original Peri’s Ink lip tints after seeing how amazing it looked on my friend (and her assurances that it was the best tint she had ever used). Back then, I liked make up but I wasn’t very well versed nor experimental with the products that I used, so I didn’t really know what to expect. What I got blew my mind though and the two ended up as a staple for my daily make up. A year after, I took another trip to Seoul and found out that Peripera had since released a bunch of other variations – the Moisture, Velvet and Airy lines. I ended up trying the first two, but I hadn’t actually touched the Airy line until now.
BB Cosmetic had sent me over four of these tints to try out and review – which I am so thankful for! These are all of the original colours except for #1 Heart Grapefruit (which I wasn’t sure would suit me) so the make up hoarder in me is really glad to almost have a full set. They have also released some new colours which I will be checking out later on. For now, let’s move onto this review and I can tell you in advance that I am really happy with these!
Remember to check out BB Cosmetic to get your hands on these (or any other products from Peripera). they have free international shipping with no minimum purchase, and you can also get an additional 8% off with my code (which I don’t make money from, but will bring down that cart total): QAL3F6ZA8YZ
So the packaging of all of the Ink lip tints are very similar. It comes in a colour coded matte box with a bold, trendy sort of design. I think that it looks good and it’s suitable for the general target audience (teens to twenties) and it also fits into the brand style well. It’s something that I would be very comfortable giving to people as gifts because it looks fun but isn’t too high end, nor cheap. The price is also very affordable! It’s a bit more than you would pay for some Korean road shop brands (eg A’pieu or Etude House) but it’s still good. This is currently selling on BB Cosmetic for USD$7.35, which is really good as a small gift.
The colours that I got are:
- #2 Pretty Orange Pink: A wearable and lively orange pink that is suitable for every day wear
- #3 Sold Out Red: A versatile red colour that can be worn light on it’s own, or layered for a bold look
- #4 Beautiful Coral Pink: A bright, slightly warm pink that is suitable for many skin tones
- #5 Elf Light Rose: A pretty, MLBB colour that is suitable for daily wear or layered for an interesting gradient look
The interesting point of the Airy Ink Velvet tints is that they had a semi-opaque, matte packaging style that was very different to the other lines (which are opaque and solid coloured) to reflect the product. Unlike the Velvet tint, which was meant to have bold pigmentation and a mousse like finish, the Airy line is meant to have great colour pay off with a weightless formula – that is, you won’t feel it on at all. It is also meant to be very easy to use for lip gradients, in that they blend out well. They are also meant to be hydrating, keeping your lips soft throughout the day.
I tried this tint on by itself, as well as layered with my other Banila Co tint (which also has a mousse like formula but is more similar to the Velvet, in that it is thicker with a super bright colour pay off). The doe foot applicator (pictured below) allowed for very easy application and was easy to touch up during the day. The packaging also ensures that there is an optimum amount of product that you won’t overload your lips – and I know this is because of the packaging as I had accidentally pulled off the black part of the tube before and… well, the formula is thick and there is a lot of it.
Overall, the packaging is very sturdy and I carry it around all the time – I’ve never had any problem with leaking or it opening in my bag.
And above are the swatches on my hand and on my lips! (I made them pretty small because I really don’t think I have very nice looking lips)
They’re surprisingly quite accurate to how they looked on the official swatches – maybe a little bit darker, but that is very dependent on lightly and how much of it you apply. I’m particularly in love with Sold Out Red and Elf Light Rose, which are both very wearable daily colours for me. The formula really does feel weightless but it isn’t drying at all and doesn’t become patchy like a certain Colourpop lipstick. It also blends out very well, so it’s suitable for those who prefer to sheer out their lip colour or build it up to be bolder. Personally, I like very bright lips, so I often use this with a darker colour for a gradient effect.
The Airy Ink Velvet is definitely a win for me! Honestly, Peripera has never failed me and – if I could afford it – I would happily buy every single lip tint that they’ve come out with. So far, my collection isn’t massive but I’m hoping to grab a few more when I’m in Seoul next too (or when more go on sale).
Here’s the final verdict!
THE GOOD
- Cute and trendy packaging
- Sturdy and doesn’t leak
- Easy to use and reapply
- Great colour range
- Weightless formula
- Long lasting (stays as long as you don’t eat anything greasy and leaves a pretty stain)
- Good colour range
- Blendable and works with other products
THE BAD
- Colour can only build up a little (not to an opaque look)

WOULD I RECOMMEND?
Yes! In fact, I would highly recommend checking out all of their ink tints! The original is a great, long lasting one that I wear under my lipsticks; the velvet has a rich and cold colour; the moist is super comfortable and really cute; and this airy one has a great formula. Their lip products have not let me down before and I am definitely going to keep collecting them (until I am broke).
