I’m back with another review (of course), and this time it’s another Koelf hydropatch – for your elbows. For a lot of us, we pay so much attention to moisturising our faces, legs and necks (especially our necks, okay) and more difficult to see spots tend to be neglected. Dry elbows don’t look very nice and nor do they feel great. Cracked skin can make sure a pretty painful experience, especially in an area that moves and rubs against other surfaces so often.
I have to admit that my own elbows are pretty neglected. They have been dry to the point of hurting before, which isn’t something to be that proud about. For that reason, I was looking forward to trying this out. I wanted something that could give my elbows a quick hydration that lasted even after the product wore off. It was also important for it to be easy to use and not affect my movement, as I do a lot of work at home.
If you’ve read my previous Koelf review, you will know that I also tested their heel patch. For this one, I’ll be using my own body instead of my mum’s (but thanks for helping me apply it, mum!) and giving you my thoughts on it. Like the previous, this product was also sent to me for review by RoseRoseShop so don’t forget to check them out too!
Like the heel patch, this one also comes in a box of eight pieces, or four pairs. They are packaged in pairs, so they’re easy to use or bring on travel. The patch is shorter than the heel patch and is almost a squarish shape (as you can see below). It’s made of the same fabric as the heel patch with the same hydrogel, both of which were pretty good quality. The patch is easy to peel because of the cute, heart shaped cut out and it applies on well.
You don’t want this to fall off so, as per the instructions, make sure that you wash the area first to rid it on oils and other products (lotions etc), but also dry it off! Water will affect the adhesion.
Warning! Here comes my before photo. My elbow is really dry and it basically looks white all the time. It’s actually not in it’s painful state right now but, during the dead of Winter, it often does. I won’t write so much here since I’m trying to keep this a little brief and also because I think these photos speak for themselves.
I kept this product on for around two hours and didn’t reapply after that. It stayed on really well though; better than I thought it would since I went ahead with my blogging and typing that whole time and thought that leaning on my bed sheets would accidentally ruin it.
Check it out and then it’s onto the verdict!
SO WHAT IS IT?
A hydrogel patch for dry elbows.
- Individual packages
- Hydrates effectively
- Easy to peel
- Attaches to skin firmly and doesn’t slide off
- Perfect size
- Effect only lasted around two days so frequent use is needed
- Harder to hide under clothes (to wear throughout day)
WOULD I REPURCHASE?
As with the heel patches, these definitely work but they have more of an instant effect. Long term wise, I think that using better moisturisers and lotions will be a lot better. This would be good for people who need fast and effective results though, such as for events. You can apply this and then go ahead with doing your make up, since it’s so handy and applies firmly. As for repurchasing, I don’t think I will as I don’t feel it is very essential.
