If you’ve been reading my blog (or keeping up with my complains on instagram), you’ll have that I’m terrible with my dry skin – wether, allergies… even lack of sleep can influence it. We’ve hit warmer weather here in Sydney, so it hasn’t been as bad and I’ve been able to use lighter products. Regardless, this cream from Innisfree still comes in really handy for a quick, strong hydration routine! This is a cream that I bought with cold, dry weather in mind though so I have been using this sparingly; maybe once or twice a week.
This is the Green Tea Moisture Cream and, if you haven’t guessed already, it’s from their Moisture line. They also have their balance line (which is good for normal to oily skin, I believe), as well as their Seed line which is even stronger than this – though it is a bit pricier.
I have been using a few products from this line, so read on for my review of this thick, super moisturising cream!
According to YesStyle, this is a “highly concentrated moisturizing cream is enriched with eco-friendly Jeju fresh green tea leaf extracts that form a moisture barrier to prevent dehydration. Mango butter is included to help boost water levels in skin while the cream’s formulation is developed without parabens, artificial colors, mineral oil, animal-based ingredients and imidazolidinyl urea.”
I love that Innisfree uses a lot of natural ingredients and so a lot of their products smell really great too. A lot of their products seem to be derived from Jeju Island, known for being pure and… well, beautiful. Admittedly, I do feel that their ‘all-natural, soy printed, Jeju Island product’ concept is a bit of a gimmick but… if it works, then I’m in.
The packaging is similar to most of the other Innisfree products – a good quality plastic, elegant and simple design, sturdy enough to carry around. I feel like they’re usually a bit big for travel, especially if you have a full routine, but the density of this formula means it’s easy to decant.
The formula is thick and, on first application, can feel a bit greasy. It absorbs quite easily but is best used at night (as it may interfere with any base make up on top). The scent is light and pleasant, also very minimal. I usually use this at the end of my skin care routine and, since it is quite warm here now, also sparingly. I think that I will use more of this and more frequently in the cooler seasons.
After using this, I always wake with a very fresh and hydrated complexion, which also means that my base make up applies better. I steer away from using it during the day though, is it is quite thick.
Here’s the final verdict!
THE GOOD
- Soy printing and elegant design
- Natural ingredients
- Sturdy packaging
- Light and fresh scent (minimal)
- Strongly hydrating and long lasting effect
- Absorbs easily
- Easy to decant
- Decent price point
THE BAD
- Thick formula
- Can be slightly greasy (not recommended for oily skin)
- A bit big for travelling
WOULD I REPURCHASE?
Most of the Innisfree prducts that I’ve used have been really great and this one is so different. I would definitely repurchase and I also want to try more from the different Green Tea lines – the balancing line would be good during summer and the seed line when my skin is super dry. I think I would be using this more often during winter too so it’s possible for this to become a staple.
WHERE TO GET IT FROM
I got mine from the Innisfree store in Edae, Seoul so below are links to different sites that all carry this so you can definitely check them out! All are sponsors for Oh My Stellar and are trusted websites that I always recommend and purchase from myself.
