Following up from my previous review, I figured that it’s time to write about this Double Dare kit that I also received from StyleKorean – and was obviously the most excited to try out because of the packaging. I actually tried this out before the three step mask so this was my first impression of the brand, and they definitely impressed me.
Although I received this package as a set, the products are actually sold individually on the website. You can get the OMG! Peeling Gel for USD$22 or the OMG! Pulling Gel for USD$15 (USD$28 if you want it with the mini brush too), They also have these really cute head bands (the OMG! Head Band) for USD$8 each – and they come in six different colours but, as if it is fate, I got the black one!
So, I’ll briefly go over this kit packaging and mostly talk about the products as individuals. Let’s get into it!
Kit Packaging
Double Dare is a brand that focuses on masking products, so it’s actually really nice that they put together a kit like this. I can’t find it on the StyleKorean website, which is why I am assuming that it’s a PR kit, but I think it would be nice for them to make it available for purchase too (and I will update this if it is).
The kit came in a large box which has their usually illustration style on the front – as well as a feature of the items included. It has a very professional and trendy style, which gives a good impression of the brand.

Review – OMG! Head Band
First off is the most simple product but, in my opinion, an essential for any mask addicts out there. Personally, I own at least six of these fluffy headbands but this is my favourite at the moment. The quality of the band is really nice, so it fits snuggly without being too tight. The material is also really soft, which is always a plus. Their OMG! Head Band design is quite bold and iconic for Double Dare, with the large lettering on the bow.
As previously mentioned, these head bands are selling for USD$8 each – which isn’t cheap, but isn’t too expensive either. I don’t think that this exact head band is a must have, but it’s cute and the quality is good, so I would recommend.
I have the Black band (pictured above), but it is also available in Light Pink, Hot Pink, Sky Blue, White, and Purple. I might grab a pink and a purple one in the future because they’re my other favourite colours!
SO WHAT IS IT?
A fluffy head band for holding back hair when masking

THOUGHTS? Well, this is a fairly basic (but nice) head band, so I’m not particularly hard to please here. If this is a design that you like, then I would say to go for it but there are also a lot of others out there so you’re sure to find something you like.
Review – OMG! Peeling Gel
This Peeling Gel is a chemical exfoliant that helps to remove dead skin as well as clear out pores, giving your complexion a smoother appearance as well as aiding in the skin turnover process. The product comes in a 100g black tube, which makes for easy dispensing and application. The quality of it is nothing special, but it isn’t too bad either. I think that it’s sufficient for what it is. It also has a fresh and sweet lemon scent, which I personally enjoy.
The main ingredients in this product are:
- Lemon: Exfoliating and Antioxidant
- Papaya: Exfoliating and Pore Tightening
- Acerola: Moisturising
- Allantoin: Softening and Protecting
- Vitamin C and E: Brightening and Moisturising
- Hyaluronic Acid: Moisturising
If you’ve used a peeling gel before, then this would be a fair familiar product for you. You apply the gel over your face and massage it in circular motions. Rather than absorbing, the gel will then help to visibly remove the top layer of dead skin, resulting in a lot of pilling forming. They recommend to do this for 1-2 minutes (which I think is very sufficient) before washing it off with lukewarm water.
The result is an immediately smoother and brighter complexion. Using the Peeling Gel regularly, I find that it helps with congested pores (which I get often because of my daily make up) and also allows my make up to apply more evenly. Although it uses acids for the chemical exfoliation, the formula is balanced out well with hydrating ingredients – including my favourite Hyaluronic Acid.
For those with dry skin or patches in general, then this would be a really product to implement. They recommend using this 1-2 times a week though, for those who don’t have sensitive skin, you might get away with using it a little bit more.
SO WHAT IS IT?
A chemical exfoliant/peeling gel with hydrating and brightening benefits

THOUGHTS? It’s been a while since I used a peeling gel, but this has revived my love for it. I love the lemon scent of it and the product works well to exfoliant my skin, but is fully non-abrasive and gentle enough that I am comfortable with using it regularly. I will be trying out some others once I am done with this, but this is a peeling gel that I will be recommending to other people and would consider repurchasing in the near future.
Review – OMG! Pulling Gel
While the peeling gel works to remove dead skin, the Pulling Gel works to remove black heads and dissolve dead skin cells in the T-zone area – similar to what a clay mask may do but without the dryness. This would also make it more suitable for those with sensitive skin or who are prone to break outs. It comes in a smaller tube than the other, at 30g, but you only use a very small amount of product and it is also cheaper at USD$15 for the tube.
This product claims to use strawberry seeds as a slight physical exfoliant, but the particles are so small that they’re not noticeable. However, it does have a strawberry scent, which is very pleasant but I also find it more subtle than the Peeling Gel.
The main ingredients in this product are:
- Strawberry seed: Exfoliating and Pore Refining
- Jojoba Seed Oil: Moisturising and Reducing Oil
- Papaya: Exfoliating and Pore Tightening
- Vitamin C: Brightening
- Hyaluronic Acid: Moisturising
- AHA: Exfoliating and Brightening
This is a fairly simple product to use – they recommend applying a dime size amount onto clean and damp skin (i.e. the nose). My immediate impression was that this gel has an obvious warming sensation, which feels a bit weird that first but you get used to it. You can then massage the gel in for 2-3 minutes before rinsing it off.
For a more intense exfoliation, they also recommend using the IM Buddy Mini Brush (which is available in a set and I will discuss below) – I personally always use that because I find my pores quite stubborn.
This product is recommended to be used 1-2 times a week but, similar to the Peeling Gel, I do think it’s gentle enough to use more often.
SO WHAT IS IT?
A warming gel to help pull away and dissolve black heads and dead skin cells

THOUGHTS? This product did help to hear up my black heads and pores without any drying or stripping of my natural oils. However, the main reason that I put my ratings down for it is because I find the product a bit hard to use. Regular massaging is too gentle for me and the gel seems to rub away. It still work well, but just takes a while.
Review – IM Buddy Mini Brush (Available in Kit)
This is the brush that comes with the OMG! Pulling Gel Kit; it is dual sided with one having shorter bristles and – I think – stronger pressure. It also has some bristles at the base, though I haven’t quite figured out if they should be used as well (I did try though and found they were a bit too stubby). This brush isn’t sold separately but is available for USD$28 alongside the Pulling Gel.
The brush is well weighted and has a good grip, with a matte finish silicon handle. It is good quality, but I’m not sure if it is an essential to buy alongside this product. If you have something similar, then I am sure that it will be easy to replace. However, I do feel that the Pulling Gel works better with a brush than fingers.
SO WHAT IS IT?
A dual (triple?) sided silicon brush

THOUGHTS? This is a decent brush but, as mentioned above, I think it can be replaced easily and isn’t an essential to buy alongside the gel. I also find it quite expensive for what it is, since the difference between buying the product alone is USD$13.
And those are my thoughts for everything in the Double Dare kit that the received! Personally, I think that both of the masks are pretty good but they actually work best as a pair. I have been using them together and my skin feels so clear and refreshed afterwards, with a smoother complexion and a (much) clearer t-zone. I like that they both have hydrating and brightening benefits too, and are quite gentle on the skin.
As for the accessories, both the head band and the brush are good quality products! I would recommend them but I also don’t think they are a must have.
