Review: Pure Pearlsation Divine Pearl Cleansing Oil & Revitalizing Facial Cleansing Foam (KLAVUU)

Klavuu Pure Pearlsation Kbeauty Review StyleKorean

This product was sent to me by StyleKorean for review purposes. I was not paid for this post but please note that affiliate links are used on my blog. These go towards supporting Oh My Stellar and future content.

This is going to be a short post because, unfortunately, these cleansing products didn’t really work out for me – in fact, one of them broke me out. In retrospect, I don’t think that I had a very good time with KLAVUU products (which is surprising because a lot of people legitimately love them). I am thinking that one of their core ingredients just don’t work very well with my skin, which is a shame because I really wanted to love these.

Out of their cleansing products, StyleKorean sent me two from their Pure Pearlsation line – the Cleansing Oil and the Revitalizing Facial Cleansing Foam. As they naturally sit together as a two step cleansing routine, I originally tried them out together but had to drop one completely within a day!

So, if you want to know about my experiences with these products, which one didn’t work for me and what other recommendations I have instead – read on.

KLAVUU | Pure Pearlsation Divine Pearl Cleansing Oil (USD$40.13)

The product is described as a “smooth cleansing oil with Korean pearl extract, which gently massages the skin and cleans the deepest pores as well as waterproof lip and eye makeup.” Aside from cleansing the skin, it also claims to keep your skin hydrated – without any stripping. As with most oil cleansers, this is fairly true.

They recommend three pumps for the face and neck, as well as (strangely) the application of their serum mist before washing it away. I don’t have the serum mist, so I just used this as a first cleanser.

Packaging

The product comes in a good quality and sturdy white box, and a frosted clear bottle. The pump can also ‘close’ depending on which side you have it twisted to. It doesn’t click in place, so isn’t super sturdy, but it’s sufficient for at-home use. The pump is of a good quality – soft and smooth to dispense (it doesn’t get stuck) and easy to use. When it’s locked, there’s no leakage or dripping.

The overall design also looks very elegant and high end, which is what I have come to expect from KLAVUU so the product definitely looks like it’s worth the higher price tag.

Personal Experience

This cleansing oil is nice actually, and I will most likely be going to finish the bottle but I don’t think that it is the best that I’ve used. As a pro, it is very gentle on the skin and washes off easily, leaving no residue. It also leaves your skin feeling very hydrated and soft. However, since this oil cleanser is so thin, I find that it has trouble removing very tough waterproof make up (for example, my eyeliner and mascara) so I sometimes have to do a third cleansing step.

Here’s the verdict!

SO WHAT IS IT?

A lightweight oil cleanser with Korean pearl extract

OVERALL RATING? 6.5/10

THOUGHTS? I’ll be finishing mine but this isn’t one that I will be rushing to recommend. It would probably work well for people who don’t wear a lot of waterproof eye make up, but just doesn’t work for me. It’s also quite pricey and, to be honest, there are better and more affordable options out there.

OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS? There are so many great cleansing oils. My personal favourite is the Banila Co Clean it Zero (which is less than half the price at the moment as it’s on sale for USD$15.99), and that also comes in different variations like NourishingRevitalizing or Purifying.

KLAVUU | Pure Pearlsation Revitalizing Facial Cleansing Foam (USD$34.24)

Similarly to the oil cleanser, this also has Korean pearl extract (which is the hero ingredient of all KLAVUU products). Aside from removing make up, it also claims to keep your skin hydrated after use – but I found this to be very false (more on that below).

As a cleansing foam, this is a product that starts off like a cream and then foams up once it is worked into wet skin. According to the product description, “The foams will reach deep down the pores to clean out all the dirt and makeup to return you the bright skin.”

Packaging

I also really like the packaging design of this. The unit carton looks really luxurious and I’m especially a fan of the silver foil printing.

The tube for the cleanser uses a matte finish soft plastic so it’s easy to dispense and also looks more high end too. This uses a twist cap, which is a bit unconventional for foam cleanser (or just from personal experience) but it is still easy to open and grip. Overall, good packaging.

Personal Experience

I only got to use this cleanser once and it broke me out overnight, so I won’t be using it again at all. The cleanser is really drying and, as soon as I washed it off, I could feel that my face was tightened and there was a dragging on my skin – definitely not a good sign. Even if it removed my make up well, it is just too harsh.

Here’s the verdict!

OVERALL RATING? 4/10

THOUGHTS? I won’t even be finishing off this bottle because I don’t want to risk even more break outs on my skin. Unfortunately, this cleanser really disappointed it – it made some great promises but failed to deliver. The cleanser stripped my skin and dried it out more than most other cleansers I have tried lately. I would not be recommending this to anyone.

OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS? To be honest, this cleanser disappointed me so badly that it wouldn’t be difficult to recommend others. That being said, one that I am really loving lately is the Neogen Real Fresh Foam – I previously also reviewed that here and I’m now almost finished my bottle. It’s also a fraction of the price, selling at USD$20 on StyleKorean.

So that concludes my review on these KLAVUU products! Unfortunately, I really didn’t have a good time with this brand and, while I never write off brands completely, I think that I will be hesitant to try out anything more from them. Rather than their products being a poor quality (except for the foaming cleanser – sorry, there is no saving that), I think that my skin is just not interacting well with their formulas.

Let me know down below if you have used KLAVUU before and let me know what your experiences were with them. And, if you’re still wanting to check out the brand or some other products that I recommended, hop and skip over to StyleKorean!
