Earlier in the month, Mecca Maxima announced the launch of a new brand to their stores – Summer Fridays! This has been a much hyped product launch from a relatively new brand – I’ve been seeing their products all over Instagram and they’re touted as the new game-changers in the beauty industry. Their products are targeted to the jet-setters and those who live busy lifestyles, and need skincare that had an immediate effect on tired and dull complexions.
For this month, Mecca Maxima started out with the launch of their Jet Lag Mask (and there are rumours online that they will be following up with the Overtime Mask early next year). I personally haven’t had the opportunity to try this product yet, but I wanted to share some information so you can decide for yourself if this is something for you!

Brand Description
When you work hard and still want soft, healthy-looking skin, Summer Fridays has your back – and your beauty routine. US bloggers Marianna Hewitt and Lauren Gores Ireland have battled their own bout of dull, tired and stressed-out skin with huge amounts of travel and a busy lifestyle to boot, which led this duo to create skincare formulas that deliver results. Marianna and Lauren have tried and tested countless beauty products and were still searching for something with good-for-you ingredients that gave skin an immediate glow, and then Summer Fridays was born.
Together with a team of industry experts, Hewitt and Gores Ireland dreamed up their own product – a simple mask that leaves skin looking gorgeous, whether you’re hopping off a plane or just running out the door. Formulated with clean, vegan ingredients, this hydrating mask gives customers the chance to take a little Summer Fridays time for themselves, relieving stressed-out skin so that everyday feels like a Summer Friday.

Jet Lag Mask | AUD$70
The Jet Lag Mask is described as a “unique, nourishing face mask including natural ingredients that are proven to deliver rich hydration and a radiant complexion in just one application.” This is a hydrating mask that claims to sooth tired skin through a combination of vitamins, ceramides, antioxidants and gentle exfoliants. The instructions say to apply this for a minimum of ten minutes and then to wipe off the excess with a towel – this is a no rinse mask. It claims to have skin looking “instantly renewed, radiant and ready for anything!”
This product is also formulated with no phthalates, surfactants, petrolatums, BHT, BHA, or silicones, being suitable for most skin types.
So let me know, will you be trying this out? I’m someone who lives a fairly busy life (or so I think) and I love my beauty routines – I try to take my time out for my skincare every night, though mornings are more difficult. If this is a product that can give me a better, more radiant complexion using that same quick timeframe – or something I can work into my ‘before going out’ routine for special occasions – then it’s something I would be keen on.
At AUD$70 for a tube though, this mask is definitely a high end product and does not come cheap. I’ll probably do some more research into this before deciding if I want to purchase because I’m definitely interested, but unsure of how it’ll fit into my routine.
