Excited? I’m excited because while other people (mostly in the US) have been lucky enough to get their hands on the new Urban Decay collection already, us Australians have been waiting eagerly for this release. Following the news that they were discontinuing the original (and game changing) Naked palette, photos of this new palette started to make the rounds online before being officially announced.
This is the new Urban Decay Naked Cherry Collection and this will be launched at Mecca Maxima on 16th October! I’ve already got my eyes on the eyeshadow palette and, looking at all of these product photos, I’m super keen on the liner and lipsticks too!
So, read on for more photos and product information – and get your PayPal ready!
Naked Cherry Eyeshadow Palette | AUD$83
This is Urban Decay’s wildest way yet to look better Naked…Naked Cherry Eyeshadow Palette has a sexy vibe that’s more tart than sweet. With 12 never-before-picked neutrals, this vamped-up cherry-hued palette is sure to bring out your sultriest, most tempting eye looks ever.
These 12 all-new shades include an array of soft mattes and sizzling metallics, ranging from creamy ivory and shimmering coppers and plums to the most intense black cherry. Adorned with a row of metallic cherries, the crimson compact includes a full-size mirror and double-sided brush—ready for precision application on one end and seamless blending on the other. Whether you’re at the office, in-between flights or getting ready at the apartment, Naked Cherry spices up everything from chill neutrals and sexy shimmers to super-smoky eyes.
This palette is similar to the Naked Heat palette in that it features an almost monochromatic colour story – in this case, this palette has a lot of cherry pink and almost wine red shades. The packaging seems to also be similar in that it has a full plastic casing with a more dimensional cover.
Personally, I really like the Naked Heat palette so, provided that I don’t have too many of these shades already (I’ll have to swatch in store), I’m keen to get my hands on it! I really like this colour story and it’s something that I’ll get a lot of use from.
Naked Cherry Vice Lipsticks (Limited Edition) | AUD$30
Make it a real treat and finish your juicy look with three limited-edition matching shades of Vice Lipstick, Urban Decay’s cult favourite formula that delivers super-creamy texture, rich payout and superior colour dispersion. Yummy shades include Juicy, a light peach-pink with copper micro-shimmer; Devilish, a berry pink with tonal micro-shimmer; and Cherry, a deep berry wine.
I personally love the Urban Decay Vice Lipsticks (I have used the bullets before, as well as the liquid lipsticks) – in fact, I have a lot of trouble stopping myself from collecting them all. I like that this collection has a good variety of shades – a deep wine, a more nude shimmer and a brighter pink shimmer. The latter one reminds me a little of Big Bang, but I think that copper reflect will make it looks very different.
Out of these three, I’m keen to pick up Cherry (the darkest shade) as the others won’t suit me very well. I love the limited edition packaging with the cherry print on the chrome casing too! Urban Decay will always win with packaging for me!
After that, there is the Cherry Scented All Nighter Setting Spray, limited edition and in travel-size. This is the one product here that I’m not interested in because I don’t like cherry scents (unfortunately, I’ve been scarred as a kid and cherry now reminds me of cough syrup) and also because a travel-size of the spray would last me no time.
One that I am keen on though, is the 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil (AUD$33 each). This is available in two new shades:
- Love Drug: a deep wine metallic
- Black Market: a satin finish black (not pictured)
I’m keen to pick up Love Drug because I love playing with red and burgundy eyeliners. These liner pencils also claim to have really great staying power (and is waterproof!).
Apparently, “Both shades also work great as a base for your eyeshadow. Just apply to areas of your eye where you want to add some drama (like your outer corner or even entire lid), then sweep your favourite Naked Cherry Eyeshadow shades on top. The creamy, award-winning and waterproof formula stays soft for blending (about 30 seconds), then dries down to a long-lasting finish that will not budge.”
The new Urban Decay Naked Cherry Collection is available 16th October exclusively at Mecca Maxima. Have you thought about what you’re going to pick up yet? Personally, I’m eying that eyeshadow palette already, as well as that Vice Lipstick and new liner pencil.
The official Urban Decay website also shows that there is a highlight and blush palette, which has a really pretty cool toned blush that is totally calling my name, but I’m not totally sure if it will be available in Australia yet. (Edit: US exclusive, sadly)
