Hi everyone! So it looks like I finally had the courage to film and post my first Youtube video – it’s kind of a long time coming. For my first one, I decided to go simple and show how I do my day-to-day make up. This look was solidified over the past year or so and is heavily influenced by the trends and styles that I saw while I was living in South Korea. It focuses on a clean, youthful style that is suitable for school, outings and work. I did darken the eye makeup slightly though, something which was more suitable now that I’m back in Sydney!
The video will be at the end of this post but, first, let me talk about my favourite products from this tutorial.
JOSIE MARAN | Coconut Watercolor Eyeshadow in Rio de Rose Gold
I bought this from my local MECCA after a friend of mine used it for a photoshoot and boy, I have to say that I’m in love with it. The colour is absolutely beautiful and can be applied as is (which gives it an intense finish) or blended out – which I do almost every day. I sometimes also layer a deeper tone from my Naked 2 to give my eye colour a bit more depth.
The color and pigmentation of the watercolor eyeshadow is definitely it’s strength, though I do find that it isn’t as long lasting as I wanted. Reapplication is easy though and the shade can easily be blended out again for a more subtle look at the end of the day.
PERIPERA | Peri’s Ink (01 It Lips)
This is a product that I bought just a day or two before leaving Seoul and I am so disappointed that I didn’t purchase every single colour! Right now, I own two and have the intention of purchases the other shades as well as the other lines (Moist and Matte, I think?) that have seen been released.
Peri’s Ink can be used as a lip stain or a full lip colour and its staying power is remarkable. I often wear it as an overall lip color by itself and the only time I will need reapplication is if I eat something greasy. Water? Soda? Tendency to lick your lips? No worries at all.
CLIO | Kill Brow and Kill Black
I often talk about these two together because they, just like Peripera, have a great staying power (as is expected of a CLIO product).
The tinted tattoo eyebrow is best put on at night as it gives the product time to stain your skin before you wash it again. After using it for approximately 3-4 nights in a row, you will find that you don’t need to keep reapplying it all the time. Even just one application will stain your brows though, so this is good for using when you have to go swimming. Secret: This is why I never lose my brows when I go out anymore.
As for the Kill Black, it is a waterproof pen liner. I often doubt waterproof products but CLIO has once again proved me wrong by bringing an eyeliner that I never have to reapply through the day. Once dry, it won’t come off under your use make up remover (or rub your eyes). As someone who has allergies and have very watery eyes, I’ve suffered with smudged eyeliner make up through all of high school and college. This liner, which was introduced to me in Korea, is a god send. Truly.
