Brand Spotlight: The best platforms are at Windsor Smith

When it comes to shoes, I can never part with my platforms. Perhaps it’s because I’m a creature of habit (I’ve worn nothing but platforms since I was a student in Korea) or maybe it’s because, at just 157cm in height, I feel like I need to make up for something. Still, those thick, somewhat bulky soles are part of my signature style and I can never go past Windsor Smith to find some amazing designs for every day wear.

Established back in 1946, they were an Australian family-owned business which had a big boom back on 2009 when they launched their first womenswear range. They are responsible for both Windsor Smith (their main brand) and Lipstik, but I’ll only be sharing from the former today.

Match White Leather Sandal

I fell in love with the Match White Leather Sandals (AUD$139.95) the moment I laid eyes on them and, after a bit of waiting, I bit the bullet and got these! To be honest, the back of these did scratch my heels when I first wore them so I would recommend breaking them in by wearing them around the house first, and maybe bring bandaids the first couple of times out so you can fix any friction. Aside from that though, the platform soles keeps them pretty comfortable for a day out.

Thrilled Black Leather Sandal

For a lower, maybe work-safe option, the Thrilled Black Leather Sandals (AUD$119.95) are super cute. I don’t own this exact pair but I have another with a bit more of a heel (rather than a flat sole). I find that the ankle straps are a lot more flattering tham slingbacks and love pairing this type of style with shorter skirts and dresses.

Fantasize Black Leather Heel

Channel some Y2K vibes with the brand new Fantasize Black Leather Heels (AUD$139.95)! I’ve definitely got my eyes on these. They look so comfortable and actually remind me of a pair of butterfly slides from when I was in primary school – too cute and these would be an easy daily shoe too.

Rich White Leather Rose Gold Metallic Sneaker

I love Windsor Smith’s platform sneakers and these Rich White Leather and Rose Gold Metallic Sneakers (AUD$149.95) have my name all over them. I have another from the brand with the same shape and they are super comfortable. The lining and inner sole is well cushioned and hugs your feet really well – like walking on a firm pillow! I also love a fun metallic or sparkly finish on my sneakers, especially when paired with my more minimal all-black outfits.

Icon Black Leather Boots

And finally, because I can’t say no to a good boot, the Icon Black Leather Boots (AUD$189.95) look absolutely perfect. The ankle boot is versatile for so many different outfits whilst the elastic sides make for a comfortable fit too. Pair these with a cute pair of socks, and you’re ready to rock n’ roll!
