Review: A’Bloom (Althea)

Althea Korea A'Bloom Kbeauty Review

This product was sent to me for review purposes.

Althea Korea is absolutely killing it with their new releases. Aside from the great curation that they have on their website, I have also been really enjoying the products from their exclusive (i.e. in-house) brands – from super creamy and pigmented lip tints, to a lightweight and velvet-soft sunscreen, it seems like they are taking all of the right steps! Although I haven’t loved everything (their Milk Peel Cream Mask was not a favourite of mine, although many others enjoy it), I am generally really excited when ever they have new product launches.

In the past, all of their exclusive releases have been under their main Althea Collection (which includes their Bare Essentials and Petal Velvet line) but this one is a little bit different in that they just launched a new brand!

This is called A’Bloom and is like the more cute, fun and youthful little sister to the core brand. At the moment, the range consists of four fruit based sheet masks (Watermelon, Peach, Avocado and Lemon Lime), the BHA Blackhead Blaster and two Meringue Puffs (in either the Baby size or the Giant). Prices are ridiculously affordable with sheet masks starting at 10 for USD$3.50 (or 50 cents if bought individually) and the most expensive item is the BHA Blackhead Blaster which is still a steal at USD$4. This range is definitely great if you’re on a budget or just want to try out something new that won’t break the bank.

So, I was lucky enough to have been sent the entire range to test out so let’s get into this review. I want to go into every single item here for you! Let’s go!

Tutorial: Valentines Day Look with Althea

Althea Korea Make Up Tutorial Valentines Day Look

This product was sent to me for review purposes. I was not paid for this post and affiliate links are not used in this post.

I was never a big fan of Valentines Day as it always seemed like such a commercialised excuse of an event. Love is wonderful and amazing, but I feel like that’s something we should be celebrating every day. All of those roses and chocolates don’t really mean anything – though admittedly, I would never decline roses and chocolate (especially not chocolate). The thing that I like best about these sort of celebratory days though, is that it gives an excuse for some themed make up looks! And they’re really great for boosting creativity – which is what I’ve needed lately.

Recently, Althea Korea launched a selection of make up from their own brand – all of which they sent me over to play around with and to create a pictorial. In the past, I’ve used their skincare and some setting powders – most of which I’ve loved – but this is actually their first foray into colour cosmetics. The most logical thing to do would be a Korean inspired look but I wanted to do something a little different today.

So, today I’ll be showing you how I achieved this Valentines Day themed look with cute rosy cheeks, some pretty raspberry tones and a cute little heart detailing. Although this is a Valentines look, this is really something you could wear for any occasion – because love is never out of style! I wanted to do something more creative but that would also be wearable enough so that it can be worn outside of instagram.

In this tutorial/pictorial, I’ll be featuring the new Althea Korea cosmetics too so, let’s go!

Dear Santa: Christmas Wishlist (Althea)

Althea Angels Christmas Wishlist

This post is sponsored by Althea but all chosen products and opinions expressed are my own. Affiliate links are not used in this post.

So we are at a point where Christmas is really close now and I have yet to really put together a list of things I want – partly because I don’t receive Christmas presents anyway (I’m an adult apparently) and also because I generally buy myself things I want rather than waiting for others to spoil me.

That all being said, I was approached by Althea to put together a short list of 10 things that would be on my Christmas Wishlist and, especially since I have been a bit absent from the k-beauty scene lately, this wasn’t hard to put together at all! There have been a bunch of super exciting releases and holiday packs that I’d missed – and now that means I need to get them.

So, click on to check out everything on my Althea Christmas Wishlist and, if you want to check them out – definitely do so! They carry a great range and also have their own brand (from which I highly recommend their Petal Velvet Powder and Petal Velvet Sunaway)

New Release & Review: Milk Peel Cream Mask (Althea)

Althea Milk Peel Cream Mask Kbeauty Review

These products were provided to me by Althea for my honest review. Affiliate links are not used in this post.

The Althea Exclusive range has been growing lately and I’m really lucky to get a first look at a lot of them. Many of the products I’ve tried have been centred around floral ingredients (such as the Petal Velvet Powder which I love), so I think that this milk-based formula is actually totally new to their range. I want to show you a new release called the Milk Peel Cream Mask which is a clay-type foam/whipped mask that promises to revitalise and hydrate skin.

I haven’t been using a lot of wash off masks lately, especially not clay masks, because I have been focusing more on cleansing my skin and then healing my break outs (via oil rebalancing). I was pretty keen to try this just because it is milk themed though – I have used milk based products in the past and really liked them. This product did surprise me though, in that it was not what I expected it to be.

This was released around two weeks ago and is now available at Althea for USD$9 – you can also get free shipping on all of the Althea Exclusive products with the code PBSHIP.

So, I’ll cut this rambling short and let’s just right into this.

Review: You Glow Glen Coco Kit (Dear, Klairs via Althea)

Althea Angels Dear Klairs Kit You Glow Glen Coco Review Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop Supple Preparation Facial Toner and Toner Mate Cotton Pad

These products were provided to me by Althea for my honest review. Affiliate links are not used in this post.

Dear Klairs is a brand that I had tried before in the past, and that had very good quality and simple products that worked well for my skin. When Althea Korea reached out to the Angels community about reviewing a handful of their products, I jumped onto the opportunity right away! They put forward three different ‘kits’ (these are not sold in kits but were paired together in this way for blogging and review purposes) and I chose their You Glow Glen Coco Kit – which, aside from having the coolest name, I figured would work best for me as it contains brightening and antioxidant products.

For this kit, I ended up reviewing three different items: the Toner Mate 2 in 1 Cotton Pad, the Supple Preparation Facial Toner (pictured below is the smaller travel size, not full) and the Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop – which is a very popular product that I had been curious about for a while!

So far, I have used these products for a good amount of time so I have some great thoughts on it. However, I will also continue to use them (especially the Vitamin Drop) to see how I go with longer term results.

And, without further ado, let’s get on with the review!
