New Release: AKOCO and their Flawless Sets

Akoco Kbeauty Flawless Set Review

The kbeauty industry is massive and it seems like every day that a new innovation in skincare is being launched, so it can be really hard to keep up. The great thing is that there are experts out there and they have put their time and effort into curating only the best of the best for you. The relatively new online store AKOCO has just launched with their boxed sets and – seriously – they are so well done. At this point in time, they have also released a number of different sets to target different skin concerns but the original is the Flawless Set.

To celebrate their launch, they sent me their Flawless Set and you would have seen me posting about this on Instagram – I just love the products that they’ve included in here. I only just noticed that I hadn’t written up an unboxing though (and this post is a good three months late for which I am so sorry). I was originally holding out to try everything first but realised that that’s going to take much too long so I’ll be sharing with you this anyway!

Although the Flawless Set is now out of stock, they do have their new Flawless Flaw-less set in stock (which targets acne prone skin) or, of course, you can always shop their products individually.

So – let’s get into it!

Review: Lip Motion (B By Banila)

B By Banila Co Lip Motion Lipstick Kbeauty Stylekorean Review

This product was sent to me by StyleKorean for review purposes. I was not paid for this post but please note that affiliate links are used on my blog. These go towards supporting Oh My Stellar and future content.

Admittedly, I am a total sucker for Banila Co. I use their oil cleansing balm almost religiously and have also liked most of the cosmetics that I’ve tried out as well. For me, my love for Banila Co started when they brought in Taeyeon as their model and – aside from just loving her in general – I loved how they did her make up and styling for all of the advertising campaigns. I felt like they were so much more trend-forward and lively than the previous Nature Republic advertisements (they started to look real weird in later years).

Since then, I’ve been really keen on the brand and keeping a close eye on their new releases. I find that Banila Co is a bit hard to buy online, since they are mostly just famous for their cleanser, so I practically jumped when I saw that B. By Banila was being stocked at StyleKorean! This is their new sister brand that specialises in cosmetics – so it’s right down my alley.

There are a handful of products from them that are available on the StyleKorean website but I decided to start my first foray into this sub-brand with their Lip Motion lipsticks! These are selling on the website for USD$18 and also come in two different finishes – and I tried out both, of course. I found that I lean towards the matte formula because thats what I’m used to wearing every day but the glossier version is also really pretty and versatile too.

So, let’s get into this review!

Review: Prime Primer Hydrating (Banila Co)

Banila Co Prime Primer Blur Hydrating Review

Do you guys know the importance of primer in your daily make up routine? I didn’t – haha! For the longest time, I had been using moisturiser as a primer because of how dry my skin was. I hadn’t thought about the longevity of my BB cream or how it wore throughout the day; though, obviously, I have been noting those details a lot more now that I’m actually reviewing and testing these products. On most days, I still don’t use a primer because I want to see how these products wear without any additional help but, when I am using a cushion or BB cream that I’m already familiar with, I do finally use a primer to help it last throughout the day.

Plus, I hate that late afternoon cakiness.

So, onto this review. This is one of the primers that I’ve recently bought (I’ve been using another Missha pore filler primer for a long time) and, to be honest, I totally bought this because Taeyeon was advertising it. In fact, I have to admit that I bought most of my Banila Co products because she’s their new model and I’m a total sucker. However, I’m really happy because I’ve actually loved so many of their products and this is definitely one of them. I was originally going to review the hydrating and the blur at the same time, but I found that they are both so different that it’s better to go one at a time.

So, for all my dry skinned, pore-troubled people out there… this is the product for you- the Prime Primer in Hydrating!

Review: it Radiant CC Cover Cushion (Banila Co x Iphoria)

Banila Co iPhoria it Radiant CC Cover Cushion Review

I’ll be honest, I completely splurged at Banila Co because I am so excited about Taeyeon being their new model. Anyone who knows me knows that I am a huge (and probably embarrassing) fan of hers – and SNSD, of course. Prior to this, I had never actually never used anything from them, not even their super famous Clean it Zero cleansers. However, I think I’ve stocked up on a pretty good variety to get a good feel for their brand (and figure out their strengths and weaknesses).

So here I go with my first Banila Co review! This is a cushion that I wanted as soon as the collaboration came out. Of course, this desire was only further augmented with Taeyeon’s photoshoot came out. This is from their collaboration with Iphoria, a super quirky accessories brand and comes with four different cases. The refills are interchangeable – they are previously existing Banila Co formulas, so it is really only the packaging that’s different.
