Feature: 5 Favourite K-Beauty Skincare Products

5 Favourite K-beauty Products

The Korean beauty industry has been booming for years, so it’s not surprise that it’s also super saturated with numerous brands and products. When people first delve into k-beauty, I find that most are only aware of larger brands (mostly owned by parent companies like Amore Pacific). However, this is one of those fields where indie brands aren’t exactly falling behind – in fact, a lot of the time they are actually doing better!

So then comes to question – where should you start? Today I’ll be sharing five of my all-time favourite k-beauty skincare products. These are all products that I’ve used over and over again, so I would definitely recommend checking them out.

Let’s get into it!

Review: Cicapair Cream (Dr Jart+) vs Cica Cream (VT Cosmetics) Comparison

Kbeauty Skincare Comparison Review - Dr Jart+ Cicapair and VT Cosmetics Cica Cream

This product was sent to me by StyleKorean for review purposes. I was not paid for this post but please note that affiliate links are used on my blog. These go towards supporting Oh My Stellar and future content.

Centella Asiatica, also known as Cica or Tiger Grass, is one of my all time favourite skincare ingredients – it’s pretty much a god send for sensitized or acne prone skin as it helps to calm and heal at the same time. I’ve used a lot of products formulated with Cica but, to be honest, I can never have enough! For this review, I will be doing something a little bit different and actually comparing two very popular Cica creams – the VT Cosmetics Cica Cream (which I have previously reviewed here but will discuss again) and the Dr.Jart+ Cicapair Cream.

Both of these products are currently available on StyleKorean, with the VT Cosmetics Cica Cream at USD$14.30 (on sale from USD$28.60) and the Dr.Jart+ Cicapair Cream at USD$25 (on sale from USD$42). Aside from the different price points, I also think that both of these have very different formulas that would be better for contrasting skin types – I have my personal preferences, of course, but you need to decide what’s best for you too!

So, before you make any decision on what to get – let’s get right into this review!

New Release: AKOCO and their Flawless Sets

Akoco Kbeauty Flawless Set Review

This product was sent to me for review purposes. Please note that affiliate links are used.

The kbeauty industry is massive and it seems like every day that a new innovation in skincare is being launched, so it can be really hard to keep up. The great thing is that there are experts out there and they have put their time and effort into curating only the best of the best for you. The relatively new online store AKOCO has just launched with their boxed sets and – seriously – they are so well done. At this point in time, they have also released a number of different sets to target different skin concerns but the original is the Flawless Set.

To celebrate their launch, they sent me their Flawless Set and you would have seen me posting about this on Instagram – I just love the products that they’ve included in here. I only just noticed that I hadn’t written up an unboxing though (and this post is a good three months late for which I am so sorry). I was originally holding out to try everything first but realised that that’s going to take much too long so I’ll be sharing with you this anyway!

Although the Flawless Set is now out of stock, they do have their new Flawless Flaw-less set in stock (which targets acne prone skin) or, of course, you can always shop their products individually.

So – let’s get into it!

Review: Cicapair Calming Mask (Dr Jart+)

Dr Jart+ Cicapair Calming Mask Lets Face It Kbeauty Review

This product was sent to me for review purposes.

After finding out that I’m a fan of Dr Jart+ products – in particular their masks – Let’s Face It sent me an extra mask from their line to try out! I wanted to use this much earlier but with how crazily busy my life has been lately (as you might notice from my stranger behaviour on Instagram), it’s been so difficult to even find an opportunity to sit down with a sheet mask. I did finally find a half hour to relax a little though – I was still working as I did so, but gave myself the time to also do some skincare – and I’m pretty happy with this!

This is the Cicapair Calming Mask from Dr Jart+ which wells for AUD$6.95. It is a bit high in comparison to some roadshop brands but I find that most masks from their brand can be a little bit more expensive – and are generally worth it. You can get this mask from Let’s Face It, along with others from the brand. Also check out my review of the new COSRX Calming Liquid Mild that they had also sent me to review earlier on.

And without further ado, let’s get right into this review!

Review: Shake & Shot Rubber Mask (Dr.Jart+)

Dr Jart Shake and Shot Shaking Rubber Soothing Luminous Shot Mask StyleKorean Kbeauty Review

This product was sent to me by StyleKorean for review purposes. I was not paid for this post but please note that affiliate links are used on my blog. These go towards supporting Oh My Stellar and future content.

Okay so I finally tried this rubber mask out after staring at it in intimidation for the past week or two and, I swear, I am ready to stock myself up because I love this product so much! I have had a bad experience with a rubber mask in the past, where I took so long to try and combine the product that it solidified before I could use it, so I was really cautious about this. That being said, I think that I actually didn’t mix this up as evenly as I should have but it was still ridiculously effective. This product has honestly blown me away and I can’t wait to share it with you all.

So, this is the Shake & Shot Rubber Soothing Mask from Dr.Jart+, a Korean brand that has since also become very popular and trusted overseas. I personally haven’t tried anything from their brand before but I know that they’re especially popular for their skincare range, which is meant to be suitable for even sensitive skin and – of course – highly effective. Their rubber masks, which have that iconic creepy baby face, also went viral on Youtube and you’ll probably find reviews on it easily!

Their products can be a bit expensive, especially when you’re trying to buy their products overseas, but this mask is currently on sale at StyleKorean for USD$6.16. The full price is USD$12.35 and, to be honest, it is pretty expensive for a one use mask.  However, it is really effective so I might still use these on special occasions. Or when my skin really needs it.

Update: This mask is now retailing on the StyleKorean website for the full price of USD$8 and they often have sales too – absolutely an improvement!

So, let’s jump right in!
