Feature: 10 Gorgeous Make Up Products for Your Vanity

10 Gorgeous Make Up Products - Beauty Feature Article

The beauty industry moves fast and there are new release products coming out almost every day. With the prominence of social media, it’s also impossible to deny how important packaging is. Whilst the actual formula and product is still the most important, you can’t have a successful product unless you’re nice to look at too! That’s my opinion anyway.

In this list, I’ll be sharing with you some gorgeous packaging and also why I love them (from both a designer and consumer perspective). Consider this a gift guide or even a shopping guide for when you’re wanting to make your next purchase.

As reference, I love packaging design that is unique, speaks well to the brand identity but is also practical and highly functional. So, don’t expect me to be listing pizza shapes eyeshadow palettes or chunky, cat paw lipsticks though – no one has the time (or vanity space) for that!

Review: All Hours Foundation (Yves Saint Laurent)

Yves Saint Laurent YSL All Hours Foundation Beauty Review

I have been on a mission to test out some new foundations (since finding my favourite Fenty Beauty and my new love, the Too Faced Peach Perfect) so one of the first that I picked up – which was a good handful of months ago – was the YSL All Hours. It is available at Mecca Maxima (in Australia and New Zealand) for the rather expensive price tag of AUD$89 or you can check out the official YSL Beauty website to buy direct (to check stockists).

This is a 24 hour wear foundation that has been really popular with beauty gurus and influencers online. In fact, it’s considered a cult favourite, which is why I decided to try it out. Unfortunately though, I found that my opinion on the product would change and fluctuate a lot over the past few months – which is why I put off reviewing this until now.

I actually do like this foundation and will continue to finish up the product, but it doesn’t have the longevity that I personally need. In comparison to the Fenty Beauty (which is my top favourite and my standard for all foundations now), it falls a bit short even though it is still one of the better ones I’ve tested (I’m looking at you, Huda Beauty). In the end, it just didn’t tick all of the boxes for me, though it comes very close.

So, let’s get right into this review! I’ll try to go into as much detail as I can about the formula and my experiences with it.

Diary: Myer Beauty Masterclasses | Meeting Tina Yong and Learning from YSL

Myer Beauty Masterclass YSL

I found out about the Myer Masterclasses on Instagram via Tina Yong‘s Instagram – where she advertised that she would be holding some lessons at the department store that is close-ish to my work place. I really didn’t want to miss out on these, partly because I’m a big fan of her videos (and I’ve been binge watching the Tina Tries It series pretty often) and also because the prices were pretty good.

In addition to this class with Tina, I also chose to attend two other masterclasses with another two brands – YSL, which was on the same day, and MAC Cosmetics, which is next week. The brand masterclasses were AUD$25 each and the lesson with Tina Yong was AUD$50 – both of these classes also include gifts from the brands which more than make up for the cost of the seat.

Both of these classes have different topics. For Tina’s class, it was mainly about easy and useable daily make up tips (focusing on a fresh and radiant look) which are suitable for people on the go. I ended up attending these class with two of my friends but I went to the YSL class alone – this was more about night time make up and introduced a lot of the YSL brand (and I love their brand).
