5 Favourite K-beauty Products

The Korean beauty industry has been booming for years, so it’s not surprise that it’s also super saturated with numerous brands and products. When people first delve into k-beauty, I find that most are only aware of larger brands (mostly owned by parent companies like Amore Pacific). However, this is one of those fields where indie brands aren’t exactly falling behind – in fact, a lot of the time they are actually doing better!

So then comes to question – where should you start? Today I’ll be sharing five of my all-time favourite k-beauty skincare products. These are all products that I’ve used over and over again, so I would definitely recommend checking them out.

Let’s get into it!

10 Gorgeous Make Up Products - Beauty Feature Article

The beauty industry moves fast and there are new release products coming out almost every day. With the prominence of social media, it’s also impossible to deny how important packaging is. Whilst the actual formula and product is still the most important, you can’t have a successful product unless you’re nice to look at too! That’s my opinion anyway.

In this list, I’ll be sharing with you some gorgeous packaging and also why I love them (from both a designer and consumer perspective). Consider this a gift guide or even a shopping guide for when you’re wanting to make your next purchase.

As reference, I love packaging design that is unique, speaks well to the brand identity but is also practical and highly functional. So, don’t expect me to be listing pizza shapes eyeshadow palettes or chunky, cat paw lipsticks though – no one has the time (or vanity space) for that!

Review: Radian-C Vitamin Spot Ampoule (Laneige)

Laneige Radian-C Vitamin Spot Ampoule Kbeauty Review

This product was sent to me for review purposes. Please note that affiliate links are used.

Skin brightening has been one of my main concerns for a long time and, with my genetic inclination towards getting dark spots, I don’t think this will change any time soon. As I had recently finished my Ole Henrikson C-Rush Brightening Gel Crème, I also figured it was the perfect time to introduce something new!

This is the Radian-C Vitamin Spot Ampoule from Laneige, a follow up product to their Radian-C Cream (which I have also tried). I hadn’t hadn’t heard about this before, since it hasn’t been officially launched in Australia yet, but found that it’s available on StyleKorean for USD$24 (on sale from USD$39 – so it’s a great deal).

Xmas Shopping Guide 2020 - Header

Last updated 2 November 2020

It’s that time of the year again – holiday releases are coming. I’ve been keeping an eye on some of these launches and, while some brands have slacked off a little in 2020 (understandable given how the pandemic has impacted everything), there are still a lot of great ones! From celebratory eyeshadow palettes to brilliant skincare sets – there’s so much to choose from.

It would be exhaustive to include absolutely everything, so this article mostly features things that I’m personally interested in trying or think would be a great gift option. Most, if not all, of these will be beauty related and available either in Australian stockists or online – all information which you will find here, of course.

Please note that this list is also being updated as new announcements are made so let me know if there’s a brand or release you think I should add in!

Now let’s start shopping!

What type of moisturiser should I use? (Laneige’s Water Bank Collection)

Laneige Water Bank Collection Hydro Gel Moisture Cream Hydro Essence Review

This product was sent to me for review purposes.

Hydration is so important, but it is also something a lot of people seem confused about. I’ve had a surprising number of people confess that they don’t actually have a skincare routine and have never touched a moisturiser in their life: usually because they feel their skin is already oily or feel that face creams are too heavy.

So for today’s post, I wanted to do more than just write a review. Today, I want to unpack the Laneige Water Bank Collection and give my recommendations for when to use them. There are recommended skin types, but I’d like to discuss what the differences are between them, as well as giving suggestions for seasonal suitabilities.

I have three of the products on me but I want to talk about the whole range: this includes the Hydro Essence, Hydro Gel Moisturiser, Moisture Cream Moisturiser and the Moisture Cream Intensive Moisturiser. The first two have a lighter texture which is best for oily-leaning skin types and warmer weather, whilst the Moisture Cream (and the Intensive version) is better for dry skin and weather.

So, read on to find out more!
