For those looking to boost their skincare routine, Vitamin C is often one of the main go-tos. I’ve been a big fan of the ingredient ever since I started my skincare journey; in fact, it was one of the first ‘serums’ that I ever used. The natural next step would be a question of how to incorporate Vitamin C into our daily makeup routine too – and Pixi Beauty has done exactly that.
The +C Vit Collection is a hybrid skincare-makeup collection, mostly consisting of brightening products that work as a skin prep to the rest of your make up. They have both immediate and long-term benefits and consists of four products: the Undereye Brightener, Brightening Perfector, Priming Oil and the Lip Brightener – all of which are currently available on the Pixi Beauty website.
Head over there to check them out but, in the meantime, I’ll share with you some information (and personal thoughts) on the whole collection!
+C Vit Undereye Brightener | USD$16
The first product, and arguably the one I think will be most popular, is the Undereye Brightener. This is perfect for people who are concerned about dark circles or whom just don’t sleep enough (like me). It is described as giving an instant awakening effect through a blurred and energised appearance. Some key ingredients include Vitamin C (of course), Ferulic Acid and Caffeine.
According to the official website some of the product claims include:
- Illuminating pigments and Licorice to energize the eye area
- Soothes delicate skin around eyes
- Instantly erases dullness
- Creates a create base for undereye concealor
- Paraben and animal testing free
You can see a swatch photo of the product in a bit but, essentially, it has a creamy formula with an orange-peachy pigment for balancing out any darkness beneath the eyes. It has a rich formula that keeps the eye area well moisturised, minimising any base makeup separation.
That being said, I feel like people who are concerned about dry undereyes may appreciate this more. I tend to be more sparing with it because I find it a bit heavy for my skin type. It does a good job of brightening the under eyes for me though, mostly in thanks to the colour correction.
Here’s my verdict on it!
SO WHAT IS IT?
A lightly pigmented undereye cream with Vitamin C infusion
THE GOOD
- Decent price point
- Easy to use applicator
- Peach pigment balances our darkness
- Hydrating and good beneath matte concealers
THE BAD
- Texture is quite rich
- May not suit oily or combination-oily skin types

OVERALL RATING? 7.2/10
THOUGHTS? The best point of this product would be in its moisturising and brightening properties, which definitely deliver on the product claims. I would have preferred a might lightweight texture for this but it isn’t too bad for the undereye area.
+C Vit Brightening Perfector | USD$18
If you are more concerned with brightening overall, or perhaps just want something for a full face application instead of just eyes, then there is also the +C Vit Brightening Perfector. This is more of a primer-type product intended to blur and perfect, giving skin a dewy, radiant finish. It can be used both underneath make up or alone for a toning effect.
Similarly to the previous product this is also paraben-free and not tested on animals. The texture is rich and dense – it’s a cream formula but so moisturising that it’s almost greasy. It also has a white colour with tiny black particles, though isn’t visible once it’s absorbed. I’m not sure how this will react on darker skin tones though.
The immediate result is super dewy but can feel very heavy on oily skin types. Personally, I only use this as a base under matte foundations and always very sparingly. It has little to no oil control so would be best suited for dry skin or as a ‘spot’ primer (focusing on dry areas and avoiding the t-zone).
Here’s the verdict!
SO WHAT IS IT?
A creamy primer with toning, blurring and brightening properties
THE GOOD
- Decent price point
- No noticeable white-cast
- Gives a dewy finish
THE BAD
- Thick and rich texture may feel greasy
- No oil control at all
- Definitely not suitable for oily skin types

OVERALL RATING? 4.8/10
THOUGHTS? I wanted to like this but, to be very honest, I just don’t. It doesn’t work for my skin type and seems to further augment any shine and greasiness as the day goes on too. Even from first application, I feel like I can feel my pores clogging up with sebum! Eep. The brightening benefits are also very subtle so it isn’t something that I reach for.
Out of the two products, I would likely get more use out of the Undereye Brightener. They’re both quite rich formulas so, even if it claims to suit all skin types, would probably be best for those with dry skin – though the Undereye Brightener with its targeted application is more forgiving.
+C Vit Priming Oil | USD$28
For something with a lighter texture, but still that intense moisture, Pixi Beauty had also released the +C Vit Priming Oil, which is described as a tri-phase oil to nourish, energise and balance as well as priming skin for a radiant glow. Out of the three ‘primer’ type products, this one may be the most expensive but – hypothetically – should work better for different skin types. I haven’t have the chance to use this product yet so will be updating this post later on with a review.
According to the Pixi Beauty website, product claims include:
- Instant absorption to leave skin ready for makeup application
- Calms and hydrates
- A lightweight formula
- Paraben-free and no animal testing
Key ingredients include Vitamin C, Turmeric and Carrot Oil (which I’ve personally never seen in a product before).
My first impression of this Priming Oil is that it’s significantly lighter than the other cream-based products and does absorb quite quickly into skin. Personally though, I’ve always been hesitant to use oil-based products because of my skin type… which is why I’ve left this one to last. Once I do try it though, I’ll make sure to update!
+C Vit Lip Brightener | USD$10
And finally there is the +C Vit Lip Brightener, which is easily the simplest and most universal product of the collection. This is a Vitamin infused lip balm which features a vitamin core (the yellow section) and a light tint of colour. According to the product description, this has a weightless feel and delivers intense moisture with key ingredients like Vitamin C, Jojoba Seed Oil and Vitamin E.
This is quite a nice addition to the collection and has a good price point too. The tint is very subtle which makes it easy to pop on day-to-day, especially with many of us wearing less make up now. Compared to some other balms that I’ve used, I also feel that this is similar in texture to a lip primer – it’s a bit silicone-y in texture and creates a smooth, soft surface over the lips. It’s really perfect for layering make up on top as the texture won’t affect any matte lipsticks.
That being said though, I’m not sure about the benefits of Vitamin C in a lip product nor how this really brightens the lips. I did feel that it left my lips well conditioned after use, so I think this will be one that I keep in my bag (or on my home desk) for daily reapplications!
Here’s the verdict!
SO WHAT IS IT?
A lightly tinted lip balm with Vitamin C core
THE GOOD
- Sturdy cap (won’t open in bag)
- Good price point
- Subtle colour that is suited for no-make up days
- Smooth finish with very subtle shine
- Perfect as a lip primer or base for other lip products
- No taste and minimal to no scent
THE BAD
- Not sure if there’s a real ‘brightening’ effect but rather a light tint
- Also not sure of the benefits on Vitamin C in a lip product

THOUGHTS? This is the simplest product but it worked really well for me! I don’t think that it is enough for me to consider it a new favourite but, if I were to place an order with Pixi Beauty, this would be an easy one to add to the cart.
So have you checked out the new Pixi Beauty collection? All of these products claim to be suitable for all skin types but, personally, I feel like people will dry skin will enjoy this range more. It seems to have a lot of rich, super moisturising formulas which – while may not suit be perfectly – seem to be a favourite for many others.
Let me know your thoughts on it here or on Instagram. I’d be especially curious to hear thoughts from people with different skin types!
