When Laura Mercier first left Australia in June 2018, there were a lot of frantic beauty lovers – the brand is known for selling really high quality products that a lot of people consider staples in their beauty routine. At the end of February though, there was a lot of excitement to see that they’d returned – and I’m sure that the past few months have been so long for a lot of people!

Laura Mercier is now back in stock exclusively at Mecca (in-stores or online) and people can now easily access all of her products again. I have personally never tried anything from the Laura Mercier brand, since they were previously situated inside department stores but I prefer shop at places like Mecca, but I’m actually pretty keen to try out some things now!

A no brainer would be their Translucent Loose Setting Powder (which I discuss below) and it is a cult-favourite. In fact, it’s probably the top product from the brand that people literally never stop talking to me about. There are also a few other products that I’ve heard some buzz about or that caught my eye while I was browsing so – since I have zero experience with this brand – let me chat about everything on my Laura Mercier wishlist!

And I’ll definitely be checking it all out at the new Mecca Maxima at opened near by work place.

Laura Mercier at Mecca Maxima New Release

Caviar Stick Eye Colour | AUD$44

This extremely versatile eyeshadow stick delivers effortless application, intense, buildable colour and up to 12-hour wear. Pigment-rich shades in creamy shimmer and matte finishes glide seamlessly onto the lids, staying crease and transfer-resistant. The luxe formulation gives you plenty of time to smudge, blend, line, fill or define, so you can effortlessly create any look.

Available in 24 shades

Why do I want to try it? I have heard so many people tell me how much they love this eyeshadow stick and, to be honest, the swatches and all look pretty good too! I don’t usually end up using eyeshadow sticks much, which I generally prefer to work with pressed shadows and palettes so I have access to a lot of shade combinations, and that might be the only reason I don’t buy this. I am thinking that I could get a few shades that would be good for travel use though or any more unique shades that I might not already have.

Blush Infusion | AUD$46

Blush Colour Infusion is a sheer, buildable and silky-smooth cheek colour that blends seamlessly with skin for the most natural, fresh look. Pure colour pigments feel weightless and apply evenly to skin for a healthy-looking flush of colour that lasts 10 hours.

Available in 10 shades

Why do I want to try it? The reviews for this blush are really good and I love some of the more rosy shade options that they have. I also love sheerer, buildable blushes as it gives me more flexibility and easy of use (especially since I like to build colour up just under my eyes). The claim of lasting 10 hours is also very helpful considering that I am generally out for long days! I’m especially interested in the shades Fresco, Peach and Rose.

Face Illuminator | AUD$67

As beautiful itself as it is on the skin, this multi-dimensional powder gives you the power to customise your glow, whether you’re after a soft and subtle highlight or high-fashion strobe effect.

Available in 4 shades

Why do I want to try it? I remember that when Laura Mercier first announced that they would be leaving Australia that a lot of people told me they were stocking up on these highlighters. To be honest, the pan design has definitely won me over because I’m a total sucker for things like that! It does claim to have a buildable intensity though, which is why I will need to test this in store first. There are also four shades available and I’m currently caught between Devotion or Indiscretion, which I think will work for my skin tone.

Flawless Fusion Ultra Longwear Foundation | AUD$73

A 15-hour long wearing, oil-free liquid foundation with a matte finish and weightless medium to full coverage. All the wear, all the coverage, without the weight. Laura’s longest wearing foundation of flawless full coverage and 15 hours of wear fused into one weightless formula.

Available in 20 shades

Why do I want to try it? I’m a sucker for ‘longwear’ foundations, especially if they are oil controlling, because I have combination-oily skin which has a tendency to turn into an oil slick by the end of the day. I also like that this claims to be a weightless (and therefore thin?) texture with a comfortable feeling on skin. As with all foundations, I’ll definitely have to get a colour-match and sample to test out for two or three days before I purchase the full size though.

Foundation Primer – Hydrating | AUD$58

Moisture-rich primer nourishes, soothes and conditions skin as it creates a smooth surface for flawless makeup application. The formula provides a soft-focus effect to help minimize the look of pores, fine lines and imperfections.

Why do I want to try it? And, since we are talking about getting a foundation that I’m slowly getting to the end of my Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer anyway, I figured that I might as well also check out a new primer. Since I use a lot of matte finish foundations, I actually like to use more hydrating primers underneath to give me a smoother base. I also find that these will help reduce oil production later on.

That being said, I’m not 100% if the hydrating version is suitable for my skin – as Laura Mercier does have a few (I think six?) different primers – so I’ll have to play around!

Hidden Gems Eyeshadow Palette | AUD$84

Inspired by the vivid colours of precious jewels this sleek eyeshadow compact opens to reveal 12 dazzling highly pigmented shades that span from light and luminous to deeply dramatic. Individually chic, collectively a sweeping spectrum of colours that blend and build for monochromatic statement eyes, seductive smoky looks and subtle eye accents.

Why do I want to try it? I actually haven’t heard anything about this palette so I have no idea if it’s new or if it’s been around for a while, but I love these sort of jewel toned colours and I’m curious to see if some of these might be interesting duochromes too. This isn’t one that’s at the top of list, since I feel like this might not be palette I’ll get a lot of use out of, but I’d still want to check it out!

Laura Mercier at Mecca Maxima New Release

Velour Extreme Matte Lipstick | AUD$43

Modern matte lipstick so seductive in colour, touch and texture the sensation is irresistible. Mattifying powders and silky conditioners envelop your lips in the softness and comfort of velour. A collection of 24 vivid shades provide intense colour with a dramatic matte finish.

Available in 24 shades

Why do I want to try it? I love matte lipsticks, especially if there are also comfortable on the lips, and I have also been loving these sort of crayon type of bullets lately (I find that they’re more precise and easier to use). I’m definitely already eying a couple of the darker shades in this line – in particular Control, Hot and Fatale.

Translucent Loose Setting Powder | AUD$60

Cult favourite and winner of multiple major awards, Laura Mercier’s “best in beauty,” #1 setting powder* is your go-to powder. Pros love the super smooth application, which goes on evenly, blends effortlessly and provides great wear. Sets makeup for 12 hours without adding weight or texture.

Available in 2 shades

Why do I want to try this? Honestly, this would not be a Laura Mercier list without this loose setting powder because it is definitely the brand’s hero item. If I went to dip into this brand, this would be the first product that I try out simply because it is such a community favourite and a proven product. My combination oily skin loves loose setting powders so, even if it is a bit on the pricier side, I would pay the money happily for 12 hours of wear.

So tell me, have you used anything from Laura Mercier before that you would recommend me to try out? Let me know in the comments or message me on Instagram so that I can go and check it out!
